A new year and new resolutions

A little recap

Allora, it is here, the new year of 2025 and we are on the first day. Now when I look back on my year, it changed from what I originally viewed it as. I remember complaining to my mom some months ago that this year has been shit since I have been sick for a long time of 2024. It started with Covid in the last part of 2023, and the symptoms stuck with me for quite a while. Sometimes I was stuck in bed, but for the most I just had the need to bring a toilet-roll and some nose-sprays. Annoying, but it worked out, and now as I made a short movie of highlights, I realize that this has really not been a shit year. I am actually looking at it and wondering, how will I make this year just as great, or greater.

Besides the travel, this year reminded me of the importance of family and friends, and I feel it was a good awakening that I needed. I vow to keep this focus and spend more quality time with my family this year.

I do not think the latter will happen since this year’s holidays are not matching up as well. Also, I will not go to Thailand this year due to that very reason. My parents will be going as per usual, so this year, I will try to survive January as best as I can. The year 2024 has been filled with travel, even though I have been sick, as mentioned. It started with a trip to Thailand, then to Roma, Pisa and Firenze, and later to Bari, Matera and Napoli. Later on, I went to Bologna, Verona, Padova, and Rimini. Then a short trip to Paris, followed by Milano, Padova, Chioggia, Altapiano and Lake Lago, then Bergen and Trondheim, and to Roma again.

Travel plans

Quite a lot of places, all of them mostly in Italia, and that should come as no shock to those of you who know me personally. Initially I had planned to go around many places in Europe, but that really did not happen, but I am super happy with these travel results anyway.

Comunque, for this year of 2025 I have the following plans for travel:
Italia: Roma, Milano, Sicilia, Sardinia, Verona and Torino.
During Easter holiday I have not yet decided as there may be a longer vacation there and I may actually go a bit further away than usual, but nothing set yet, so it is TBA for the moment.

The new resolutions?

A new year of course brings it’s new resolutions, and here are my resolutions for 2025:

  • Focus on consistent training (gym), 3 times per week. No skipping! (Unless sick)
  • Language learning, keep a more strict plan for improving in Italian.
  • More time with friends and family.

There you go, my short little re-cap of the year that has gone, and some small plans for the one to come. I kept the new resolutions few and focused, in order to have a fair chance to actually keep them. Many times you end up making a lot of resolutions, grand big plans that in the end never were achieved. Not going down that road this time.

As with everything in life, nothing can really be planned, as life happens, things change. Both in good and bad ways, so let’s see next year how my next re-cap of this year will turn out.

Ci vediamo! Owlando
