When did you last rest?
Yes this is a good question, I have felt for a long time that every year I rest my soul, body and mind in Thailand. At the warm beach, in the golden sun, in the country of smiles, peaceful, no plans, just rest and relaxation. But when was truly the last time?
Years have already passed since last time I was there with my parents, and since I started my trend to only go to Italia in Spring and Autumn, I havent really had a beach vacation in a long time. I think honestly that I need one soon, both because Norway sucks at this time of the year, but also because my battery is getting close to zero, in all matters of life.
A dose of vita
The reason why this is so special for me is that in those vacations, I basically do nothing. I spend time with my parents at the beach, we go back to the vacation apartment, rest some more and then go out to eat, and this process is repeated for two weeks more or less.
This is a huge contrast to my previous vacations which basically have been to wake up, find a new place to go to, go there and explore the whole day, go to sleep and find a new place. It is quite an adventure, and I truly love that too, but there is no denying the fact that when I return home, my body slowly collapses for some days until it recovers and daylife routine returns.
Apart from the obvious timezone confusion that occurs the first days in Thailand, it is complete relaxation, in a super comfortable temperature and the enjoyment of the warm waters. Of course some sunburns happen, but as long as I take care to use lotion and stay in the shadows, I am all good! Also, there is super fresh fruit, spicy food and warm people.
I have the need for that, I need these doses of life, I miss it. So very much.
