Describe something you learned in high school.
Well apart from the lessons already taught due to it being an actual school, I learned the value of truth. A bit of a stupid method but hear me out, because this was my approach to it.
As per usual, whenever there’s an upcoming test, everyone just spends the week ahead just studying, reading and preparing for it. In a way that for some, can seem crazy.
Me on the other hand, had a different approach. I was curious to see what I had actually learned, not memorized, but learned.
The way I see it, whenever you do the regular way, you just super study and try to put as much as possible into your short term memory. And you pray to the Gods that it will remain there until the test is over, some days later, odds are that you won’t remember it again. And usually two weeks after, just a tad of what you studied remains, which means you didn’t learn it, you memorized it for a bit and then forgot it. But it gave you a good grade on the test, stating that you know it, but you really don’t.
My approach is to not study, you pay attention in class (no I didn’t, but the idea is that), and do the homework given. Work with the tasks given, take notes. And then move on.
When the day of the test arrives, it will show me what truly stuck with me. It gives me an honest results of what I have actually learned. Of course, by time memory will wash that away too, but it gave me an indication of my level and knowledge of the topic at that time. And it stuck with me for much longer than it did for the ones who stress read before the test!
I still do this today, it may not give me the best grades or results, but it shows me my true current standing!
